
In 12 March 2026, a warm sense of togetherness marked a communal iftar gathering organized by lecturers and student researchers affiliated with the Pest Laboratory of the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Held at the IMB Restaurant, Department of Fisheries, the event served as a meaningful occasion to strengthen academic relationships while fostering more relaxed and open communication beyond formal settings. The gathering was attended by distinguished lecturers—Dr. Ir. Arman Wijonarko, M.Sc., Dr. Ir. Nugroho Susetya Putra, M.Si., and Dr. Prayogo Probo Asmoro, S.P., M.Si.—as well as undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students actively conducting research in pest science and utilizing the laboratory facilities.
The event began with an engaging and interactive sharing session, covering research progress, laboratory activities, and academic experiences in a casual atmosphere. The lively discussions not only enriched participants’ perspectives but also strengthened collaborative networks among the academic community. As the time for breaking the fast approached, the atmosphere grew even more festive with an abundant variety of dishes, enhancing the sense of enjoyment and satisfaction among all attendees.
This activity also reflects a meaningful contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). By fostering inclusive interactions between lecturers and students across academic levels, the event promotes a collaborative, innovative, and sustainable academic environment that supports the advancement of knowledge in plant protection science.
