The Department of Plant Protection has participated in monitoring activities for the process of making the Avocado Plant Pest List (OPT) which is a requirement of the Sanitary and Phytosanitary – World Trade Organization (SPS – WTO).

Study Program in Plant Pest Science encourages students to conceive and implement novel research within the Integrated Pest Management empasis to the insect sciences.
