An iftar gathering (bukber) organized by the Master’s Program in Phytopathology, Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada was held on 26 February 2026 at Nyore Cafe. The event served as an opportunity to strengthen ties between lecturers and students while fostering a sense of community within the academic environment of the Phytopathology Study Program. The event also included an introduction session for new students enrolling in the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, allowing them to get acquainted with one another and begin building academic networks from the start of their studies.

In addition, the event featured a session discussing strategies for completing the master’s program efficiently within a maximum period of four semesters. A socialization session on the student organization Ikatan Mahasiswa Fitopatologi (IMF) was also delivered by its board members to introduce the organization’s roles and activities to new students. The entire event was led by the Head of the Phytopathology Study Program from the Department of Plant Protection, Prof. Dr. Ir. Achmadi Priyatmojo, M.Sc., IPU., who provided guidance and motivation for students to pursue their studies effectively and actively contribute to both academic and organizational activities. The event is expected to strengthen solidarity and support the academic development of Master’s students in Phytopathology within the Faculty of Agriculture at UGM.

The iftar gathering organized by the Master’s Program in Phytopathology, Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada is also aligned with efforts to achieve several targets within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through the introduction of new students, the sharing of academic experiences, and the presentation of strategies for completing graduate studies effectively, this activity supports SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting an inclusive, collaborative, and high-quality learning environment. Furthermore, the socialization of the student organization Ikatan Mahasiswa Fitopatologi (IMF) strengthens student participation in academic activities and leadership development, contributing to the enhancement of human resource capacity in the field of plant pathology. The interaction between lecturers and students during the event reflects a spirit of collaboration and the strengthening of a sustainable academic community, which is also in line with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals in fostering networks and cooperation to support advancements in education and research in the agricultural sector.
